Message-ID: <126276.5340.qm@web82610.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Hello All, Just wanted to put an idea out there for our reunion in 2009. Our 10 year reunion was a 3-day event. Why not make it a 3 day cruise? I am a travel agent, at least part of the time, and I book lots of groups on cruises. I am sure we could get some great rates for a 3-day Baja Mexico Cruise on Carnival. It would be great for those of us with children because they have kid's programs. It would be great for spouses because they would have the opportunity to duck out when we get caught up with "old times". And, for those of us who have to travel from out of town anyway, it would be the same cost for a hotel and food for the weekend - being that your food is included in the cruise fare. Just thought I would throw it out there. It may seem expensive, but everyone would have lots of time to save up and we could put down deposits and pay a little bit at a time? Any takers? Let me know, and I can talk with my sales rep, and see what kind of smokin' deal they can give us. And, I am sure we could get a free cocktail party in there too. Cheers! I love the ideas of dinner/dance and Crystal Pier Surf Contest. I think the best way is to vote so everyone has a chance to express themselves :) Whatever the weekend I know it will be great, 1989 seems like a long time ago it will be fun to revisit. Hello All, Just wanted to put an idea out there for our reunion in 2009. Cheers! Sarah, I saw you last in the parking lot of Vons in the Clairemont Square. Probably sometime around 1993 or 1994, I think. You were walking in with a new baby, I believe??? I wanted to catch you and say hi, but couldn't get my car around to you fast enough. Also. you might not know this, but we knew a same . uh hem. "male equaintance" a little bit before that, maybe like 1989 or 90'. How is your family? Still in the area? My mom remembers you guys and says "hi girls." She was here earlier today when I was reading the posts. Richard Sanchez signed my Classmates website the other day. Remember him, Sarah, Jill, Steve? He went on to Madison after St.Pauls though; didn't go to Mission Bay with us. And is Dawn Sacco (Bumstead) connected on this site? I have a "small world" deal for her too.. My youngest son, Nathan (12 years old now) went to preschool/pre-k in Sabre Springs, Poway with Greg's niece, Francesca. His sister was mentioning something or other about Wings-N-Things, and it caught my attention and realized who she was, so we got to talking.etc. Small World! And Matt. Thanks for making me feel GLAD that I didn't make it to graduation! Loved the picture of you and the new wife on Classmates! She's quite a catch! I'm so glad to see you looking so happy and healthy. :-) Get a hold of Scott now and tell him to sign into this site! Did you tell me he had a baby on the way? Message-ID: <001801c7f4ac$569276e0$0601a8c0@Ray1> I am so excited to hear from you! I do like your sneaky tactics to work around the money grubbers at Classmates! Haha My curiosity got the better of me in a weak moment, so I bought the membership. It's true, Nathan my youngest, is 12. He just started 7th grade (you know, the age that WE all met! Oh my god!) He is the sweetest, most genuine and honest little guy ever. He is a perfectionist and pushes himself hard in school and in karate (got his 1st degree Black Belt last year!) And Ryan, my oldest, takes after me; just wants to get school over with and grow up. He loves the social aspect of school, but would just rather speed through the academics! He's very bright and witty and friendly. Adults love him because he is talkative and respectful, not all moody and grumpy like a lot of teenagers. I'm trying to "mold" him into being a cool teenager; one that people of all ages like. Hopefully, he'll stay that way. He turned 14 in May. Yes, that's not a typo. I actually have a 14 year old! I am still in shock that I could possibly be THAT old to have kids that age, because I certainly don't feel that elderly! My husband and I actually had a "moment" on Friday night, as we were sitting in the bleachers at Ryan's HIGH SCHOOL football game. It was the first game of the new school year, and Ryan's very first time out on the field in the marching band (he plays trombone). As I sat there all teary-eyed and proud to see my baby boy out marching on that big football field, it occurred to me that he was, oh my god, a FRESHMAN in HIGH SCHOOL! Out on the HIGH SCHOOL football field, with his HIGH SCHOOL friends, starting his FRESHMAN year! I looked over at my husband and he had that same "deer in the headlights" look that I did. We just stared at each other, jaws dropped. I said, "Did the ton of bricks just hit you as hard as they did me?" "Oh yeah, oh yeah." Crazy! I really just don't feel that old! I don't think I ACT old! Haha But when my hairy legged, mustached son is standing next to me, towering over me. reality hits! He talks about driving, working, what college he wants to go to; it's insane! So that's my new reality in a nutshell! It's weird, a little scary, sometimes depressing, but so exciting and awesome at the same time! I think having him starting high school and also going to my husband's 20th reunion this year, is what has really sparked the urge to get back in touch with all of my "old" friends. You are so blessed to have a little one on the way! I do miss the toy stores and playgrounds. Now it's all CD's, videogames, and a houseful of loud teenage boys! As jealous as I am of you having a brand new, teeny tiny baby, I am also looking forward to being able to travel all around with my husband soon, when the boys are up and out. And being able to get down on the floor with my grandchildren AND be able to get back up! Haha! Just kidding. I am very happy for you; this is an exciting adventure you are about to embark on! And when you have those moments of shock and disbelief, you are welcome to call me and I will bring your feet back down to the ground, and help you to stop hyperventilating!!!! :-) What a cute little Scott, or little Mrs. Scott you two will have! As for Matt, well, you can laugh at HIM when he goes through the whirlwind! Haha! It's so good to hear from you two again. You guys were so silly and sweet, and always a good comic relief for me during those long, tedious school days! I hope we get to reconnect in person soon! Hehe So hubby is from Texas, eh? We moved here on a whim about 7 years ago. My husband?s sister lived here and we visited and liked it. Other then the EXTREME heat, it reminded us a lot of San Diego. I?ve just now started to get homesick; mostly for the weather and the coast, but it sure is easier to live out this way. It?s a great place to raise the kiddo?s, and cost of living is way better. It?ll make things easier on the kids when they are ready to get out on their own. Things are more attainable, you know. We are in Cedar Park, which is a small town just about 2 miles north of Austin. So basically yes, we?re pretty much in Austin; do most of our errands and social things in Austin. I know right where Keller, TX is! We go up that way often; mostly for band competitions and things for the kids and school. That?s about a 3 ? hour trip from where we are. When you decide to move back, come to Austin!!! We?ll do lunch! Haha What else are you up to these days? Do you have any ?little Cindy?s?? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... My mom Priscilla as many of you know just went to her 40th class reunion last summer and it was a big hit! I am not surprised my mom went back to Fallbrook to visit old friends--she was a flag girl and always enjoyed the football games. Her old house sits on what is called the Grand Tradition. Oh, please correct me if I am wrong, but may even reside as well near Tori Spellings B&B--Anywho, She still feels connected with Fallbrook. Jack can help us feel connected as well.
