Gary You did nothing wrong. You were very helpful. ... As was all of the online conversations. Thank you very much. our numbers were very good, I just did not want anyone feeling they had to contribute. ... Nor do I actually want to sit down and generate all the reports that some people seem to want. I am still a little bit of a hippy at heart, and some people cannot afford anything. So the request for help became a huge topic of conversation, that I wish would just go away. People that wish to help, please help I need it, those that wish not to, that is also fine, do not worry your pretty little heads. No pressure on you, and no pressure on me. I am not kidding, and thank you again for invitation. JoAnne and I want a 5th wheel camper and a big honking truck. Yes, the price of fuel will be bad but it will be towing our house. Once I get my last one out of high school next June. I'm free, (is that an oxymoron, I just got married?). Oh dear!!! So did you know that JoAnne always wanted to be a Vet., of course in her career she is dealing with some animals, only the human kind. So, if we get there during lambing, she can help the ewes and even pull some lambs (sometimes we had to pull calves on fresh heifer). I will bring a dictionary and check your emails for spelling. She can then muck out the stalls, and I will go town for cold libations. She can then give all the lambs their shots, and I'll sit in a rocking chair with a clipboard and count sheep. See, how I have it all worked, on how to divide the chores! >From the Heart of Texas (locals know it as HOT), Gary Hey There All my Classmates and Friends! It is my pleasure and spot of joy to follow the lives and happenings of those I know/knew so long ago. A jolt of happy does the spirit well! I do hope a few of you remember me (Carolyn Wojcik) and I will be sending a donation to Jak because, just because - it is so wonderful for all of us to - when it be the time to communicat - we can. Oh how I wish I could spell. I have had published a few stories about my simple, yet not always easy life here on the Montana plains....and still I am challenged with spelling. I have offered an open invitation to every one of you that need a respit - and not one, not even one has said thank-you or 'you got to be kidding'! Montana? in between here and there? No Way!! My ranch is beautiful! it is along the Powder River and there are 3000 acres to roam. Lambing starts March 5th it will be cold and the chore is great but the beauty of birth will overwhelm your heart (along with the tragity of struggle and death) that is if any of you would take the challenge of it. I do have a hired hand that helps me once a week to do the hard and heavy stuff....so I won't be asking anyone to buck the bales! I do not take the time to sit and write - but do enjoy all the emails that we share.....love to all of you! and I hope all are well and happy even with loss and grief! So... There are two rather small tables set up under the pecan tree, and ten folding chairs. There's room for card tables, which I think someone mentioned back in August as a possibility. Bring whatever other furniture you'd like to have available. There's a layer of straw under the tree, and though prickly, the intrepid could of course simply spread a cloth and picnic in the traditional manner, complete with a bug or two I suppose. I know where the picnic is to be, then, but what about what's happening in the way of fodder? Are we each bringing our own lunches? Or is this a pot luck picnic? Really. I'm asking you. Jack wisely brought this up too: if you're not quite sure where this pecan tree I keep mentioning is located, that would be Lavender Hill Pumpkins, 1509 East Mission Road. (You can always look on the website for the address-- lavenderhillpumpkins.com-- if you aren't reading this now and have no intention of ever doing so.) There are several signs along the street announcing that something having to do with pumpkins is about to happen on your left-- if you're approaching from the east. And a bit of warning from the town side too-- that there will be pumpkins to your right. There's ample room to pull up to the gates from either direction. (They will be open.) Peggy Durling suggested a pumpkin named Benvenuti. Done! And there's a whole raft of Celtic rascals, heroes and improbabilities of similar ilk-- thanks to Kathy Curran. But the news on Tiny-the-Pumpkin is poignant: a young woman fell deeply in love with him. She would not take Alexander the Pretty Good as a substitute; only Tiny would serve. Naturally, she was extremely beautiful, just like in a folk tale. And, just like in a foilk tale (or at any rate the memorable ones) there was a tad of violence involved. Just what she was going to do with Tiny-the-Pumpkin is something you, valued classmates in general and W.S. in particular, may not want to know about. Warning: next paragraph contains material of a distressing nature and is not required reading. Aargh! She was not going to preserve Tiny-the-Pumpkin, though I'm sure he would have kept for a year at the very least-- sound as he was from his gorgeous top to his magnificent bottom. (Pumpkins are astonishingly durable.) Oh, no! The lovely young woman was going to sacrifice this huge and rare botanical achievement for the sake of someone she loved even more than she adored Tiny-the-Pumpkin: her infant son. You could see the fervor in her eyes. She would cut out (ouch) the top of Tiny's beautiful orange cranium, and (without removing the innards, "so he can have the full tactile experience" she said) insert her offspring within. A photographic triumph was to follow. But now for the good news. Michael Pierce, class of 66, went into the field and did not spare himself. He paced and scrutinized until he discovered Tiny II, who is, if possible, even more handsome that his predecessor. Noon on Saturday. Under the pecan tree. To: fallbrook64@classannual.com Date: Sunday, October 5, 2008, 4:39 PM Carolyn, Wait a minute, I told you a year or so ago that I wanted to see the big sky country.
