Joanne and Gary, congratulations to the two of you on your marriage, it is great that you found each other after all of these years. Val and Bill, it is good to hear Bill that your chemo treatment is going well. You both have been in my thoughts. As to the get together this weekend, Marie and I will not be able to attend. Our daughter had her first child in February, a 9 lbs. 8oz. girl named Keira. She is our first grandchild and we are truly enjoying our new role as grandparents. We are babysitting her this weekend so we will not be able to make it down for the Bay Area for the mini reunion. But we will look forward to the 45th reunion next year. We were just in Fallbrook over the weekend of Jul 12th & 13th to celebrate Mom's (and for some you your former teacher's) 90th birthday. Our small family was all together for the celebration and had a great time in Fallbrook. Mom had a few health issues earlier in the year and is now living at Silvergate Retirement Residence and is doing very. Take care and we will see you next year. My husband Greg has been very ill for the last 6 months and is slipping away. He has 3-6 weeks to live according to his Dr's. I knew I should attend and get some respite, however, I was so fearful he'd pass while I was gone. He's been on Hospice for the last 2 weeks and my nurses have been giving him comfort care and pain management. At this point, that is all that can be done. He wanted to remain at home which I endorse and so did his Dr's. Even though I've been a nurse for 35 years, it is not any easier to see your soulmate, husband, lover and friend slip away. I have lived vicariously reading all the posts over the last months and I know you all had a great time. Gary and JoAnne, I didn't even send you congratulations. The Doc's surmise from the testing that he picked up Hep. A in Vietnam and was exposed to Agent Orange in 1974. He caught a very bad cold 6 months and all that had settled in the liver and kidneys manifested and spread throughout the vital organs. Classmates, A phenomenal time was had by all this past Saturday and Sunday. If you were not in attendance, you missed out on renewing friendships, laughing, celebrating, reconnecting, and conversing with classmates from our graduating class. I can say with complete honesty that is was one of the most moving and memorable events I have attended. Kermit and Trish were gracious and kind as they opened their home to us for a wonderful time together. Dates have been set for next year in the hopes that we will have a large group attending our forty-fifth reunion! The FUHS Alumni Picnic will be August 2nd at Live Oak Park in Fallbrook. The 31st of July and August 1st will be gatherings at classmate's homes. If you are driving or flying in to the area, several people have offered rooms in their homes during your visit. Please let us know what your needs are and hopefully we can meet them! Mark
